William Penzer, Ph.D.

Dr. Penzer is the Director of William Penzer, Ph.D. & Associates. He has over 30 years of experience helping people as a psychologist, therapist and life coach. He has overcome anxiety, panic and agoraphobia himself. Bill was the founder of The Center for Counseling Services, which was one of the first private counseling centers in South Florida. He has written popular books dealing with overcoming anxiety, panic and phobia. Bill currently specializes in helping adults who experience anxiety, panic, depression and hurtful addictive habits. He sees people in Plantation and Boca Raton and does telephone sessions. His strengths are his ability to quickly establish a comfortable rapport, explain complex issues in clear, understandable, and practical terms and his complete support to everyone he helps. He still enjoys helping people and is totally committed to facilitating individual, couple and family growth.

Tammy Berman, M.S.

Tammy is a licensed mental health counselor with a Masters from Nova University in 2003. She has worked at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry in Canada, Bayview Center for Mental Health and currently with Henderson Clinic. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

She presently helps people in our center with a variety of problems including life adjustment,anxiety and panic,depression and addictive behaviors.She helps children, teens and adults in our office,their home or over the phone. She is a certified motivational interviewer which is a popular technique used in life coaching.


Lynn Smalheiser, M.S.

Lynn Smalheiser, M.S. graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in counseling psychology in 1986. She has worked in educational and mental health settings in Florida, New York and Pennsylvania. Lynn has experience working with individuals with severe emotional problems. She specializes in working with women in transition, couples, children, teens and families.

She helps people with anxiety, depression, substance abuse,relationship problems and problems related to being abused.Lynn see clients in our Plantation office and provides in-home services as well.


Timothy Scala, Psy.D.

Dr. Scala received his Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. His experience includes work in a variety of community mental health, medical, and educational settings in Florida. His experiences have included individual and group therapy, psychological assessment, and forensic assessment with children and adults of all ages. He has treated a wide range of illnesses that have included mood, anxiety, and conduct disorders, attention/deficit and learning disabilities, Autism and Asperger’s disorders, developmental disorders, traumatic stress, substance and sexual abuse, family issues, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, and personality disorders. Dr. Scala is also a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American College of Forensic Examiners in which he is a Certified Forensic Consultant (CFC). He currently helps children, teens adults, and families in his office or in-home visits.

Marcia Seeberg, M.S.

Marcia is a licensed mental health counselor in our Plantation office, who treats adults and adolescents with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety and relationship problems. She is Level II trained in EMDR. She has helped many to lift their depression, reduce anxieties, eliminate phobias and improve their relationships. Balance in mental, emotional and physical health stimulate the necessary conditions for managing stress, creating a healthy family, or allowing individuals to see themselves and the world more positively. Her approach to counseling includes the principle that everyone has an inborn capacity to heal and grow. Obstacles that hinder self-healing, such as suffering resulting from painful life experiences, can often be removed using psychotherapy and EMDR. She works with couples helping them learn to interact with personal responsibility and integrity, to communicate in ways that create connection, to disagree without war and to understand that most of their problematic interactions are learned patterns that can be changed.


Randy Levine, Ph.D

As a clinical psychologist, Randy Levine has over 22 years clinical experience helping adolescents, adults, seniors, and couples with issues including improving relationships, healing depression, overcoming anxiety, recovery from addictions, decreasing physical and emotional pain, and assisting in spiritual growth and healing.

Shelly Wortman Schack.

Shelly is the Director of The Relationship Counseling Center which strengthens individuals and relationships between couples and within families. She has over 20 years of experience helping children, teens and adults. Shelly specializes in helping children and teens with anxiety, ADHD, family, social or behavioral problems. She works with adults specializing in relationship issues, anxiety, depression, parenting, and strengthening self-esteem. Shelly is John Gray trained and certi?ed in Mars-Venus techniques. Her calm, warm, insightful, and professional nature is appreciated by all who visit with her.
She was an important contributor to The Center for Counseling Services team and has worked with Bill since the early '80's. Shelly also leads workshops on parenting skills and couple strategies for healthy relationships as well as overcoming anxiety and panic problems.
